Max Krieger
Max Krieger’s AI interface work includes Seemixer’s approach to programming by pointing and delve’s approach to exploring generated content.
Max Krieger presented Seemixer, an interface for pointing at website elements and specifying what they should look like, at the 2023 AI | UX San Francisco meetup. The Latent Space recap, published April 26, attributes a succinct statement of the idea to his presentation: “It'd be cool to program by pointing at things instead of typing them.”[1]
Interfaces for exploration
Krieger was also the public contact for Vivid Docs, a project from the Wellbeing <> AI build weekend described in Amanda’s June 14, 2023 account. Users described their present circumstances and where they might be in five years; the tool created vignettes of possible futures one, two, or three years ahead.[3]
In a May 26, 2024 announcement reproduced in Peter Zakin’s “Beyond the web”, Krieger introduced delve as “a ChatGPT interface for going down rabbit holes”. Zakin described Krieger’s related Rabbitholes work through a comparison with hyperlinks: ordinary hyperlinks point to existing documents through predefined connections, while rabbitholes are defined by users at runtime, anchored to selected content, and prompt a model to generate new content on the fly.[4]
